Porkomancers around the World (Film Project)

In our new Wallow World film project, we'll take you around the globe and introduce you to people who wallow in the mud with pigs – swineherds, farmers, or curious students caring for animals. We'll also introduce you to the pig breeds typical of each country.

The Cast

Paco lives in Oaxaca, Mexico, and will introduce us to pigs from his homeland. The boy loves playing in the mud and jumping in puddles. As a soccer player, he and his friends sometimes play soccer in the rain and aren't afraid of mud and dirt. Caring for the animals on a farm and playing with them in the mud is something very special for Paco. He will also speak in his language about the pigs in our documentary "Porkomancers around the World."

Amari lives in Nigeria, Africa. There, this particularly brave boy will be caring for warthogs. Amari is doing an internship at a zoological institute and is allowed not only to observe the animals but also to help the animal welfare workers care for the warthogs and assist with research. Here, Amari explains to you, partly in his own language, what he knows about warthogs and how he plays with them in the mud.

Zayan lives in a small village in Morocco. The boy is very curious, ambitious, and has a kind heart. The name Zayan has Arabic origins and means "the beautiful one," "the graceful one," or "the one who beautifies things." Besides its Arabic meaning, the name has a strong connection to Berber (Amazigh) culture in Morocco. Zayan was initially surprised by the offer to feature pigs from his region in a Porkomancer film, but the meaning of his name does him great honor, and he is looking forward to learning everything about pigs.

Ishaan is a yogi from India. He lives in a secluded village in the jungle and is curious about everything related to animals and nature. The young yogi lives in harmony and mindfulness with nature and is looking forward to introducing us to pigs from his region and showing us a special lifestyle: living in harmony and peace with animals. Ishaan is shy and has never played in the mud before. This makes the Porkomancer film with him all the more significant.
